Cayenne sushi restaurant

TLDR: A very fulfilling and diverse All-You-Can-Eat sushi dinner for $35 w/ tip. Relatively long wait before sushi gets on the table, but the quality is great. Service can be hit or miss depending on time and table size. Came with a handful of friends on a weekday night, so there wasn't a big crowd, but still several tables. Cayenne gave a slightly shady first impression, but it wasn't that bad once we sat down and started getting food. The AYCE comes in rounds - you check what you want for each round, and they will get it to the table, giving you and the restaurant a chance to pace yourself. However, each leftover piece is charged $1: sashimi, sushi, nigiri, or whatnot. The owners keep a close eye on that, so definitely avoid overordering off the bat. The wait between appetizers and the sushi can be overbearing (~45 min), but it makes sense: There are only a handful of sushi chefs, and they present everything you order per round at the same time on a single plate, regardless of how much or how little you order for yourself. I personally liked the nigiri/sashimi here better than the sushi rolls. I enjoyed their scallion pancakes as well. Most of what we ordered here was fantastic, so try as much as possible without leaving any leftovers!

This place has ruined going out to sushi for me. Between the great price and the quality, you can’t get a better deal or meal. It’s not worth going anywhere else. My boyfriend and I will drive an hour one way to get all you can eat sushi here. They offer the option of nigiri or sashimi, hand roll or regular roll, a selection of appetizers, and special rolls. The wait in between rounds is long but worth it, and the staff is very nice!

I ordered the sushi pizza, an order of salmon sushi, and a salmon avocado roll to go. The lady at the counter was super helpful and very sweet and I had my meal within 15 minutes of ordering. To be fair, I do think the salmon nigiri had a bit more rice than I would have liked, with incredibly thin salmon on top. The soy sauce was very salty, and I know you're probably wondering why I wrote that because soy sauce is normally salty, this was abnormally over-the-top salty. So I had some sushi-grade soy sauce at home that I used instead and it was great. The salmon avocado roll however, was delicious, and to my surprise the sushi pizza was absolutely fantastic! I've never seen sushi pizza before so naturally being a lover of both pizza and sushi, I absolutely had to try it. It was definitely worth price, I will definitely be back.

This has become my weekly sushi fix place! It’s about a 50 minute drive from my house but it’s worth it! Yesterday was my first time experiencing the owner and I have to say all those awful reviews about him some rude and screaming person are wrong! He served me three out of my four orders and he was very nice and pleasant! The woman that is the waitress is beyond amazing and has a killer smile and amazing personality! Now on to the food… To get the best bang for your buck don’t order negiri! Way too much rice and little fish! Get it sashimi style and get the hand rolls! Definitely recommend this place 100%!
